We had the travel experience you never want to have. My husband was in a freak accident in China. Ultimately we used just about every service in our travel insurance policy – medical care, hospitalization, a flight for medical attention and then a flight home, plus claims for reimbursement for accommodations and unused prepaid expenses.We received other benefits not in listed in the policy. The insurance carrier, InsureandGo, had access to resources which would have been difficult for us to obtain – an English speaking doctor in Hong Kong and ambulance transport from our hotel to the hospital. I don’t think we would have found these resources on our own.At the beginning of our emergency, Insure My Trip contacted us to confirm InsureandGo was in touch with us, a nice touch. We did not have to contact Insure My Trip for assistance while we were overseas or with our claims after we got home, but it was good to know Insure My Trip was there if we needed assistance.We returned home 4 months ago. My husband is now fully recovered and now we can even think about the next trip.
